Join us for a Steam Train and Riverboat Ride on the Valley RR in Connecticut. The fall foliage will be included at no additional cost to you!!!! We ride Metro-North from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven, CT, where our "Yellow Coach" bus awaits us for the short run to the very beautiful New England town of Essex and the Valley Railroad terminal. Our first order of business is lunch at "Oliver's Restaurant and Taverne". The meal choices are: Grilled 9 oz. Steak, Salmon, Eggplant Parmesan, or Vermont Cheddar & pear stuffed chicken. A Salad, Veggie, potato plus dessert is included plus unlimited coffee & tea. However, the cost of SODA or ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are on your own. Time now to board the classic parlor car reserved specially just for our RRE group. We ride north behind STEAM along the Connecticut River to Deep River Landing. Here we board the "Becky Thatcher" riverboat for a cruise on the river viewing the Goodspeed Opera House and the Gillette Castle among other scenic sights. Reboarding our steam train we return to Essex for our bus to New Haven and Metro-North train back to Grand Central Terminal in NYC |
