Iconic Train Station

Famous Point of Rocks station built by E. Francis Baldwin. The Old Main Line Subdivision on the left (the first segment of the B&O to be built) joins the Metropolitan Subdivision from Washington, DC on the right.

Construction on the C&) Canal began the same day, July 4, 1828. The two companies had a fierce rivalry as far as Cumberland.

This subdivision goes through Ellicot City and Relay where the railroad had the famous race (and lost) to a horse drawn carriage on adjoining tracks.
