Looking the other way

Jay tower controls the railroad on the west side of the station. The Atlantic, Montauk, and Main Line Branches converge at Jay. Eastbound trains from the Main Line flyover the Atlantic Branch tracks to Brooklyn and the entrance to Jamaica Yard for diesel trains.
