Vanderbilt Yard

What happened to the yard? The LIRR sold the air rights to the Barclays Center developer. The developer will build a new yard for the railroad and a retail center will be built on top of the railroad at cost to the railroad.

Vanderbilt Yard is named for Vanderbilt Avenue, not Cornelius Vanderbilt of the New York Central.
